Les expérimentations de W0RK (bizarrement le zéro à la place du ‘O’ permet de trouver des réponse plus pertinentes sur les moteurs de recherche) ont débuté en 2016 lorsque les frères Christian et Michael Zamora, membres depuis longtemps du groupe punk psyché BAd Bad ( sur S.S records) ont démarré leur collaboration entre Saint-Christophe et Nieves (Caraïbes), Londres et Oakland (Californie) au moment où Christian travaillait hors des Etats-Unis.
Sans pouvoir raccourcir les distances et avec la frustration des contraintes techniques, ils ont dû quitter le monde calfeutré et douillet du rock lo-fi psyché, les assauts punk ta-ta-poum pour davantage d’expérimentations électroniques empruntant les chemins d’un lyrisme digne de George Orwell. Leur premier opus est un recueil de chansons qui scrutent les bas-fonds de la high tech, mettent en lumière les interactions paradoxales qui naissent dans les réseaux sociaux et l’effondrement tout programmé de notre apparente modernité.
Quand « It's The Right Time » est arrivé chez Petrol Chips, il a tourné, tourné, tourné… Prenez HAL 900 (le robot de 2001, l’Odyssée de l’espace) démarrant un groupe punk sans la moindre guitare et, loin toute métaphore, jetant à terre business plans et perspectives de carrière dans les start-up au profit d’un séjour prolongé dans des discothèques aux vapeurs dark eighties, propices aux envoutements electro. Savourez « It's The Right Time », hors-d’œuvre idéal avant les sorties de cet automne !
Les fans de DEVO, Cabaret Voltaire, TodoTodo, Egyptian Lover, Baron Zen, et Kraftwerk y trouveront eux leur compte-client. Sur une banquette pas loin de Dry Erase (Vacant Stare), Exit Group, Magic Death Ride, et Ghillie Suit. Sur scène on a pu les voir (pas loin ou même avec) autour de Black Lips, Mild High Club, Granddaddy, POW!, The Men, Diarrhea Planet, Guantanamo Baywatch, DUDS, The World, Frankie and the Witch Fingers, Charlie Megira, Magnetix, Sam Flax, Andy Human and The Reptoids.
